H.E. Ziad Alexandre Hayek has 39 years of experience in investment banking, international finance, corporate strategy, corporate governance, public policy, emerging markets, economic development, and government relations. He is Managing Partner of Hayek Associates LLC, President of the World Association of PPP Units & Professionals, and Vice-Chair of the UN Working Party on PPP. He was Secretary General of Lebanon’s High Council for Privatization and PPP for 13 years until he was nominated to be President of the World Bank in 2019. Prior to that, Hayek held senior positions at Lonbridge Associates, Bear Stearns, Banque Indosuez, Salomon Brothers, and Citibank. He is (and has been) a member of the Boards of Directors of corporate entities and associations in several countries. Hayek has a master’s degree in International Management from the University of Texas at Dallas. He is a citizen of the US, the UK, and Lebanon, and is conversant with 11 languages.
